Who we are

IWC Community Care serves individuals and families who face barriers to healthcare access, including:

  • Uninsured and underinsured residents

  • Seniors and Medicare-eligible adults who lack guidance navigating care

  • Working families facing food and health insecurity

  • Communities with limited access to primary care providers

  • Individuals impacted by chronic illness, mental health challenges, and social determinants of health

Our work prioritizes equity, cultural competence, and trust-building, recognizing that meaningful healthcare outreach must be rooted in understanding the lived experiences of the community.

Community Health & Resource Fairs

One of the cornerstones of IWC Community Care’s work is the organization and hosting of Community Health & Resource Fairs throughout San Diego County. These events bring together physicians, nurse practitioners, behavioral health specialists, medical assistants, and community partners to provide:

  • Health screenings

  • Preventive care education

  • Chronic disease awareness

  • Mental health resources

  • Insurance and Medicare education

  • Referrals to local support services

These events are intentionally designed to be welcoming, accessible, and stigma-free, ensuring that community members feel respected, informed, and empowered.

  • Health educators

  • Students and trainees

By creating organized, well-run volunteer opportunities, we make it easier for busy healthcare professionals to serve without administrative burden, while ensuring that community members receive high-quality, compassionate care.
